Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person married couple) reside in on-campus student homes to provide care, supervision, and guidance for a group of approximately 8–13 students, including administering medications, driving to activities, planning and leading developmental activities, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role starts with a nine-consecutive-days-on duty schedule (then three days off) and can transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same students. The position emphasizes creating a structured, family-like environment and includes responsibilities such as daily supervision, mentoring, devotions, and Sunday Chapel attendance.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- For consideration, both spouses must complete individual employment applications
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with youth
- Two-spouse working together in a live-in role (married for at least two years)
- Ability to obtain driver’s license and drive student vans
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA ( relocation assistance)
