Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparents needed at Milton Hershey School to reside in on-campus student homes and provide daily supervision, mentorship, and care for a group of ~8–13 students. Responsibilities include managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role starts with a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule and may transition into a Placed Houseparent living arrangement with the same group of students. Eligible couples must be legally married for at least two years, both spouses aged 27+, have a high school diploma or GED, and possess a valid U.S. driver’s license with the ability to drive student vans. The position offers relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, and paid training; salary is $46,917 per person (approximately $180,000 total per couple). Relocation to Hershey, PA is required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-year marriage for both spouses
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Prohibited to use alcohol while on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- Proselytizing prohibited during religious activities
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Chapel services
