Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparents live on-campus in student homes at Milton Hershey School, providing care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from nine consecutive days on duty with three days off to a placed houseparent role living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person around $46,917 (roughly $180,000 total per couple with housing and meals), comprehensive health benefits, relocation assistance, and paid time off. Qualifications require youth experience, a two-person married couple, minimum ages, license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and a high school diploma or GED. This role includes relocation support and on-campus housing while employed.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
