Job Summary
Flex Houseparents (Full-time) live in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School, providing daily supervision, mentorship, and care for a group of 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from a nine-on/three-off schedule to a placed houseparent role with the same student group. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke-free, weapon-free campus with no alcohol on duty. This is a two-person, married-couple role with relocation assistance provided and comprehensive benefits; both spouses must apply individually. The placement is based in Englewood, CO. The role emphasizes a structured, family-like environment aimed at supporting students’ academic, emotional, and social development and includes duties such as driving, devotional leadership, and campus budgeting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
