Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparents (married couple) reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School, providing supervision, mentorship, and care for groups of ~8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, budgeting and reporting, and transitioning from flexible to placed houseparent over time. Requires completion of individual applications by both spouses, relocation with on-campus housing, and driving/vans certification; benefits include salary per person around $46,917 plus comprehensive benefits and relocation support.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-year minimum for marriage (two-person role)
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience working with youth
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Chapel services
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
Additional Requirements
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- Two-person role for couples
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
