Job Summary
Flex Houseparents (two-person, married couple) provide residential care and supervision for a group of 8–13 students in on-campus homes at Milton Hershey School. The role combines caregiving, mentorship, daily household management, and student-wellness tasks, including administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational programming, guiding daily devotions, and supervising school-home routines. Initially rotating through multiple homes on a nine-on, three-off schedule, couples will transition into a Placed Houseparent role living and working with their same student group. Compensation is $44,768 per person annually (approximately $168,000 total per couple with housing and benefits). Relocation assistance and paid training are provided, along with comprehensive health benefits, retirement planning, PTO, and other benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
