Job Summary
Provide daily supervision, mentorship, and guidance for 8–13 students residing in on-campus homes. Manage household routines, administer medications, and drive students to activities while planning developmental and recreational engagements. Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel services. Oversee budgeting and household reporting. Follow a schedule of nine consecutive duty days followed by three days off. Milton Hershey School serves over 2,200 pre-K through 12th grade students in Hershey, PA, offering a career-focused education. This role transitions to a Placed Houseparent position where couples live and work with the same group of students.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
Desired Qualifications
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
