Job Summary
Student Support Associate - Behavior Focus assists the classroom teacher by supporting students’ academic and social skill development, implementing IEP-goals, and maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment. Responsibilities include helping with small group instruction and one-on-one tutoring, supporting functional academics, assisting with activities that promote independence, enforcing classroom behavior plans, and collaborating with teachers, specialists, and families to support students with disabilities. The role requires modeling positive behaviors, administering basic health and safety procedures as guided by supervisors, and contributing to a supportive, inclusive school community. The position emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and adhering to district policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with students preferred but not required
- Experience in school special education or related experience preferred but not required
- Experience working with behavior and learning challenged students
- CPR certification (preferred)
- First Aid certification (preferred)
- CPI training (preferred)
- Annual Mandatory Reporting for Child/Dependent Adult Abuse (preferred)
