Job Summary
Monitor hallways, restrooms, cafeteria and other common areas at a Bronx high school to enforce safety rules and support student safety. Manage student movement during class transitions, assist with lunch supervision, and maintain an orderly cafeteria. Use verbal redirection and de-escalation strategies to address behavior, intervene in conflicts following school protocols, and promptly communicate concerns to administrators and staff. Build positive rapport with students and provide general support to administrators and staff as needed. Schedule runs Monday through Friday, 8am–3pm, with the position beginning ASAP and ending June 26, 2026.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 6 months experience in a student support role or advising youth in a school or learning environment
- Ability to commute to the designated Bronx, NY location
- Excellent communication skills and professional interaction with students and staff
- Punctuality and adherence to schedule
- Ability to navigate a school environment (hallways, classrooms, stairways)
- Capability to enforce safety rules, monitor common areas, and de-escalate conflicts
- Willingness to perform general administrative support tasks as needed
- Participation in E-Verify and commitment to equal opportunity employment
