Job Summary

Coordinate regular communications and status updates for a caseload of undergraduate students, covering transition to college, course planning, and wellness. Conduct outreach and intervention for at-risk students identified through early alerts, while providing coaching to probation students and assisting with Academic Rebound Program coordination. Assist with group tutoring, collaborative advising events, and community building workshops as part of Success Center programming. Maintain awareness of campus life components to serve as the primary contact for students, including presence at significant events like Welcome Weekend and Commencement. This full-time, 11-month position supports the holistic development of first- and second-year students at Hartwick College.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • 3 or more years of highly participatory, successful student support experience in higher education
  • High-energy and enthusiasm to motivate college students and propel them to success
  • Agility in a dynamic environment to achieve results as measured by student persistence, engagement, satisfaction, and graduation
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, maintain confidentiality and abide by institutional policies and procedures
  • Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, family, and others from a variety of different backgrounds, experiences and abilities
  • Demonstrated excellence in planning and organizing work and records, coordinating with others to complete tasks in a timely manner, following up, and bringing work flows to a successful conclusion
  • Knowledge of student development theories, curricular design, and advising best practices
  • Demonstrable proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Google electronic mail, and database software

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in education, psychology, professional development, or another human/social services field
  • Other credentials and experience in academic advising, coaching and/or customer service
  • Proficiency in a second language
