Job Summary
Student Success Coach position at Highland Community College focuses on coaching high-risk students toward academic and personal goals, including time management, study skills, and personalized success plans. Responsibilities include caseload management, connecting students with wraparound services, serving as liaison to navigate college systems, contributing to retention initiatives, utilizing predictive analytics for needs assessment, conducting case management and follow-up, supporting Testing Center operations, and contributing to athletic program operations as a head or assistant coach. Requires a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred), at least 3 years of relevant experience, knowledge of learning theory and student development, familiarity with intercollegiate athletics, data-informed decision-making, and strong communication and organizational skills; ability to obtain Pearson VUE, CLEP, and DSST exam certifications within 3–6 months is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum of three years of experience in related role
- Ability to obtain certification to administer Pearson VUE, CLEP, and DSST exams within 3–6 months (preferred)
- Experience with advising, student support services, retention strategies, and data/analytics
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Ability to travel to off-campus locations as needed
- Strong communication and organizational skills
