Job Summary
Develop Student Success Plans and specific intervention strategies to improve safety, social competence, and academic achievement for students in general and special education. Conduct behavioral assessments, generate remediation plans, and collaborate with teachers, aides, and parents to implement evidence-based strategies for students with social, communication, and learning challenges. Co-facilitate iCARE Team meetings, serve on the PBIS team, and assist with building Ohio Improvement Plan meetings to ensure fidelity of school-wide initiatives. Manage behavioral and PBIS data, track office discipline referrals, and administer student surveys to inform instructional modifications. Provide professional development to staff on intervention techniques, mentor students through positive youth development activities, and coordinate resources for families. Work 7.5 hours daily for 191 days at $21.53 hourly, with a requirement for a Highly Qualified status including an Associate's degree or Praxis Paraprofessional exam results.
Required Qualifications
- Two (2) years of college (Minimum of 48 Semester Hours, or 72 Quarter Hours), or possess an Associate's Degree, or passed the Praxis Paraprofessional Assessment Exam
- Valid Educational Aide Permit
- Knowledge of research related to social and emotional student support and interventions
- Experience planning and conducting professional development / training
- Demonstrated leadership and project organizational skills (planning, implementing, evaluation)
- Ability to work collaboratively with various groups and gain consensus related to project implementation and other problem solving
- Experience in data-based decision making
- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with individuals, teams, and groups (teachers, families, administrators, support staff and community)
- Ability to communicate both verbally and written in order to communicate with others inside and outside of the organization, for the purpose of giving and obtaining information
- Basic computer proficiency and the ability to effectively use Google and Gmail
- Use of good judgment to make decisions on recurring assignments
- Ability to communicate effectively with a supervisor when their discretion is needed
- Display a significant degree of professionalism and confidentiality
- Ability to conform to proper standards of professional dress and appearance
- Knowledge of the district's mission, vision, goals and strategies
- May require attendance or participation at some weekend or evening meetings/events
