Job Summary
Manage a caseload of international students throughout their academic pathway and transfer process, counseling them on admission criteria and higher education decisions. Monitor academic standing to proactively reach out to students on probation, suspension, or dismissal, while identifying opportunities for additional learning and professional development for those on track. Lead regular workshops and advising sessions to help students build competitive profiles, maintain accurate records in the student management system, and assist with I-20 documentation and enrollment verification. Communicate regularly with Regional Managers and agency partners, submit final reports and early alerts on schedule, and guide students through transfer preparation during semester breaks. Provide holistic guidance on academics, time management, and emotional well-being, while working in tandem with host university career services to support CPT and OPT employment.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in academic advising, international student services, college admissions, or a related student-facing role
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines independently
- Work effectively across cultures, while enthusiastically supporting students from diverse national and linguistic backgrounds
- Superb English writing skills with the ability to revise and edit various types of documents
- Fluency in undergraduate and graduate course materials and the ability to teach core academic skills such as research writing, analytical reading, and presentations
- Tact, patience, and diplomacy, particularly with non-native English speakers
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must work in-person
- Bachelor's degree in a closely related field or equivalent experience
Desired Qualifications
- Experience teaching ESL to/working with students from a variety of cultural backgrounds preferred
