Job Summary

Review grades, behaviors, and attendance with students based on individual SMART goals while acting as a liaison between the school, case workers, and foster homes. Provide personalized interventions to support social and emotional growth, attend extracurricular activities, and assist teaching personnel with student supervision. Monitor student performance variables including absences, tardies, and behavior referrals to analyze data and design customized progress plans. Maintain instructional materials, daily logs, and electronic records while coordinating with community partners to build resources. Work in a supportive environment with classroom teachers, counselors, and families to build constructive relationships and improve professional competence through required trainings.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be able to provide own transportation to various school settings
  • Ability to carry out the Check and Connect program for diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Proficient knowledge of classroom policies and procedures
  • Strong people skills and affinity for children
  • Excellent observation and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of prevention principles and risk and protective factors
  • Physical, mental, and emotional stability to work under stressful conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
  • Ability to utilize quick body movements to maintain safety and implement student behavior plans
  • Specific knowledge based competencies regarding safety practices and procedures
  • Specific knowledge based competencies regarding health standards and hazards
  • Willingness to participate in and utilize de-escalation techniques
  • Willingness to participate in and utilize MANDT training
  • Willingness to participate in required trainings
  • Regular work attendance
  • Physical presence at the worksite
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to comply with school board policies and follow administrative procedures
