Job Summary
Conduct campus patrols to ensure learner safety, challenge bad behavior, and protect college assets from damage or theft. Review CCTV footage, complete incident forms, and coordinate safe evacuations while managing student behavior and preventing unauthorized access. Monitor driving and parking on campus, record violations, and liaise with emergency services when required. Search students for prohibited items per protocol, support the enrollment process, and represent the college in the local community. Perform regular fire alarm testing and ensure all individuals display valid ID badges.
Required Qualifications
- Good literacy and numeracy skills (minimum level 2)
- Driving Licence

- Experience of working with young people in an educational or community environment
- Experience of positive behaviour management
- Experience of dealing with incidents and incident management
- To have empathy with young people, approachable but with the confidence to assert authority when required
- To show Basic Conflict Management Skills and to have a good understanding of the Security & Education Industries
- Experience of working under pressure, including handling difficult situations on your own and de-escalating them
- Understanding of the issues faced by young people that impact on their safety and wellbeing
- Committed to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults
- Committed to the principles of equality and diversity
- To know and understand the definition of Reasonable Force as stated in Common Law
- Basic know of Microsoft Office Programs
Desired Qualifications
- Level 3 First Aid at Work qualification or a willingness to obtain it
- SIA Door Supervision and/or CCTV license
- Safeguarding training
- Understanding within The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, (Martyn's Law)
- Experience of restorative justice interventions
- Previous experience in security work
- Previous experience within an education setting
- Knowledge and understanding of the Prevent Duty
- Knowledge about drugs and alcohol policies in relation to young people
- Experience of CCTV applications
- Understanding of college systems
