Job Summary
Student Project Coordinator position at Bird Construction in Edmonton. You will coordinate drawings and project scope/trades, review trade quotes and material quantities, participate in project meetings, conduct deficiency walks and logs, issue warranties, capture progress photos, update field and as-built drawings, supervise sub-trade work, coordinate scheduling, and maintain documentation. The role emphasizes field coordination, quantity takeoffs, sub-trade coordination, site condition verification, and layout using total station. Requires enrollment in Civil, Mechanical, Structural, or Industrial Engineering with at least one additional semester, GPA 3.0+, and residency/work permit to work for Bird Construction or affiliates. Starting September 2026 for a 4- or 8-month co-op, with opportunities across Edmonton. Emphasizes safety, teamwork, integrity, and DE&I values.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in Civil, Mechanical, Structural, or Industrial Engineering
- Will complete at least one more semester of education
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Ability to lead and operate in a changing environment
- Ability to forge and maintain positive relationships
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Sense of urgency and commitment to goals
- Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude
- Residency or valid work permit allowing work for Bird Construction or subsidiaries
- May be required to successfully complete pre-employment Medical and/or Alcohol & Drug testing
