Job Summary
Lead and support a team of Student Progress Officers to deliver high-quality, student-centred case management while setting performance expectations and managing workloads. Monitor student progress data to identify risks and trends, prepare reports for senior leadership, and ensure intervention activities meet policy and regulatory requirements. Act as the escalation point for complex or high-risk student cases and collaborate with academic, operations, compliance, and wellbeing teams to drive continuous improvement in retention strategies. This role oversees the Intervention Team function, ensuring consistent support for students at risk of not meeting course progress requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in a leadership or management role within student services, case management, or academic support
- Strong understanding of course progress monitoring, intervention requirements and compliance obligations in the education sector
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, manage performance and build staff capability
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organisational and analytical skills, with experience using data to inform decision making and reporting
- Proficiency in student management systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage sensitive student matters with discretion and professionalism
- Hold a current Victorian Employee Working with Children card
