Job Summary
Obtain vital signs, height, weight, and demographic data. Assist patients with personal care, including bathing, oral hygiene, shaving, and hair care. Perform procedures such as urinary catheter removal, finger stick blood sugars, bladder scans, and specimen collection. Remove peripheral IVs as directed by an RN and deliver meals to patients unable to feed themselves. Turn and position immobile patients safely while transporting them to treatment areas. This role requires current enrollment in an accredited nursing school (ADN or BSN) with proof of first-year fundamentals completion and BLS certification. Compensation is $22 per PRN shift. Orientation is mandatory during the second or third week of the month.
Required Qualifications
- Current enrollment in an accredited nursing school (ADN or BSN program)
- Proof of completion of the first year/fundamentals of nursing (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of basic nursing techniques and procedures and aseptic practices
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to follow written and verbal instructions, and to maintain effective working relations with others including patients, families, physicians and other hospital associates
- BLS certification
