Job Summary
Obtain vital signs, height, weight, and demographic data. Assist patients with personal care including bathing, oral hygiene, shaving, and hair care. Perform procedures such as urinary catheter removal, finger stick blood sugars, bladder scans, specimen collection, ostomy care, and emptying drainage tubes. Remove peripheral IVs as directed by RN. Deliver meals, feed patients unable to self-feed, and document oral intake. Turn and position immobile patients safely while transporting them to treatment centers. Requires current enrollment in an accredited nursing school (ADN or BSN) with proof of first-year fundamentals completion and BLS certification. Schedule is PRN day 7a-7p at a rate of $22. Orientation is mandatory in the second or third week of the month.
Required Qualifications
- Current enrollment in an accredited nursing school (ADN or BSN program)
- Proof of completion of the first year/fundamentals of nursing (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of basic nursing techniques and procedures and aseptic practices
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to follow written and verbal instructions, and to maintain effective working relations with others including patients, families, physicians and other hospital associates
- BLS certification
