Job Summary
Provide direct patient care standards within the Student Nurse Aide's scope of practice, including simple dressing changes, phlebotomy, PIV removal, and routine medication administration as delegated by the RN/LPN. Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge while explaining procedures to families and addressing psychosocial, cultural, and physical needs. Respond to emergency situations and maintain documentation meeting current standards and policies. Complete required clinical courses in Fundamentals of Nursing and Pharmacology, hold a High School/GED, and obtain BLS certification before orientation. Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program with a minimum of one year of clinical experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School/GED
- Completed a minimum of one year of clinical experience within an academic nursing program
- Completed the educational course: Fundamentals of Nursing
- Completed the educational course: Pharmacology including medication administration
- Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited Associated Degree, Diploma or Baccalaureate Professional Nursing Program
- Nursing graduates pending passage of the NCLEX
- BLS certification before the conclusion of the orientation period
