Student Nurse Intern

Under the direct supervision of the RN, the Student Nurse Intern collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to provide holistic patient care, participates in care planning with patients/families, and performs basic bedside tasks as allowed by validated competencies. The SNI assists with patient admission, transfer, and discharge, documents in the EMR, greets patients and families, and supports safety and infection control. Duties include contributing to plans of care, assisting with activities of daily living, collecting data (output, vital signs), and responding to patient needs under RN supervision; certain advanced tasks (e.g., administration of medications, IV therapy adjustments) require RN presence. Must maintain current certifications, carry a professional appearance, and adhere to KH policies and the ANA Code of Ethics.
