Job Summary
Provide safe, personal patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, performing documented procedures on the Student Nurse Intern Skills List. Demonstrate competency with specific clinical skills and techniques listed in the department skills list. Perform tasks for patients' Activities of Daily Living to promote comfort and safety, while promptly responding to call lights. Conduct regular rounds, observe patient activity, and clearly communicate changes in patient condition or needs to the RN. Maintain current BLS and/or CPR certification or obtain it within 90 days of hire. Maintain a 3.0 GPA while enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must currently be enrolled in nursing program
- Must maintain an overall 3.0 GPA
- Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- The ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire
- The ability to read, write, speak, hear and comprehend the English language
- The physical, technical and cognitive ability, as well as the manual dexterity, to use patient care equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire
- If not currently enrolled in a nursing program, this position may be used for those that have graduated from such a program and do not hold a temporary permit or have been unsuccessful in the nursing licensure exam and is retaking the exam
- In this case, the SNI position will only be available up to six (6) months from the date of graduation from the nursing program
- Minimum of one semester of formal nursing education that includes at least one semester of clinical experience and/or C.N.A certification and currently enrolled in a clinical semester
