Job Summary
Student Nurse Extern assists nursing staff with patient care under direct RN supervision, performing routine nursing activities, helping develop and revise Nursing Care Plans, clerical duties related to admissions/discharges and unit records, measuring and recording vitals, preparing and transporting specimens, assisting with activities of daily living, isolation precautions, wound care and dressing changes, and coordinating with forensic/law enforcement teams as needed; maintains patient confidentiality, participates in training, and supports a team-based hospital environment in the Trauma ICU setting in Memphis, TN.
Required Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in an approved nursing program (diploma, associate or bachelor degree in nursing)
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- At least 1 year experience in patient care or equivalent on-the-job training as obtained through participation in an approved nursing program
