Job Summary
The Student Nurse Extern position involves providing novice level nursing care to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities under the supervision of Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses. Responsibilities include utilizing the nursing process to deliver care in clinical, technical, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills. The role demands active participation in assessments, care planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for residents in a supportive learning environment.
Required Qualifications
- Must be an active student who is in their last year, or going into their last year of an accredited school of nursing.
- Demonstrate the competencies needed to ensure the provision of safe pediatric developmental disabilities nursing care for selected residents.
