Job Summary
Provide peer mentoring to TAMIU CAMP students, meet individually with freshmen or transfer students weekly, and maintain confidential records. Develop professional relationships with university instructors and staff; prepare written reports related to student mentoring and related assignments; participate in staff meetings, training, and workshops; on-campus, face-to-face interactions. This role requires current enrollment at TAMIU, meeting the university’s SAPP GPA thresholds, and availability to work up to about 19 hours per week with scheduling aligned to departmental needs.
Required Qualifications
- Current TAMIU student with 60 SCH or more at the time of appointment
- Enrolled at least half-time, 6 credit hours per semester for undergraduate and 3 credit hours per semester for graduates
- Maintain a TAMIU overall GPA of 2.0 for undergraduate students and 3.0 for graduate students
- Must meet all other requirements as stated in TAMIU’s SAPP
