Job Summary
Student Life and Campus Inclusion Student Employee provides customer service and administrative support at Oakton College, staffing the front desk, answering calls/emails, assisting with student clubs, and offering event support. Responsibilities include onboarding new student employees, handling general office duties (opening/closing, filing, scanning, copying, cash handling, posting flyers, organizing materials), coordinating events, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive paperwork, directing students and visitors, updating CCID/CCID communications and social media, and supporting additional office tasks as needed. Requires strong communication, organization, reliability, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite; the role may involve some evening hours and is located at the Des Plaines campus.
Required Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled at Oakton College in at least six credit hours during Fall and Spring; summer if taking at least 1 credit class
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- Minimum GPA 2.0 or first semester enrolled
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Reliability and responsibility
- Outgoing, flexible, organized, creative, respectful, and punctual
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Ability to work independently
- Familiarity with social media platforms
- Some evening hours
