Job Summary

Welcome prospective and current students to create a respectful environment while assisting with orientations, intake, registration, and classroom preparation. Distribute program materials, answer routine service questions, and guide students through technology platforms like Google Classroom and Zoom under supervision. Prepare instructional resources, organize classrooms, and support teachers with setup and approved requests. Assist with student check-in, attendance tracking, and crowd flow during events, while maintaining orderly reception areas and handling basic administrative duties. Gather student feedback and refer confidential matters to staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Current or recently enrolled Labouré Adult Education Center student in good standing
  • Strong record of attendance, punctuality, participation, and respectful conduct
  • No active disciplinary actions or unresolved violations of program expectations
  • Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with students, staff, volunteers, and visitors
  • Ability to work effectively with people from diverse linguistic, cultural, educational, and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Demonstrated dependability, initiative, organization, and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions, complete assigned tasks, and ask for assistance when responsibilities are unclear
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and recognize when a student concern must be referred to professional staff
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Zoom, Burlington English, and other program platforms
  • Ability to lift and carry classroom or office materials weighing up to 25 pounds, with reasonable accommodation when required
  • 20 hours/week 37 weeks

Desired Qualifications

  • Completion of at least one academic term in the program preferred
  • Bilingual or multilingual communication skills are strongly preferred
  • Previous leadership, volunteer, customer service, office, or community experience preferred but not required
