Job Summary
Assist with non-crisis or physical intervention or restraint during de-escalation of students and monitor, observe, and document behavior in seclusion or reset rooms. Transfer and/or lift students to assist them in daily activities, including personal care needs such as toileting, feeding, and dressing. Identify rule or law violations and report to authorities, while assisting bus drivers with security and discipline. Serve as a witness in disciplinary due process hearings or court cases as required. Submit oral and written reports to the school or district and collaborate with team members to improve student support strategies. Work primarily on-site at elementary, middle, or high schools, responding quickly to incidents and maintaining composure under pressure.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 120lbs
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents and public; good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability and willingness to work with special needs students
- Ability to work over contractual hours when needed
- Regular and on-time attendance required
