Job Summary
Manage the district's PowerSchool system as the primary administrator, handling user accounts, security permissions, and system updates. Maintain data integrity by preparing state and federal reports, conducting FERPA compliance audits, and developing custom dashboards for leadership. Provide ongoing training to staff through one-on-one sessions and create documentation to support consistent data entry practices. Collaborate with IT and instructional teams to optimize workflows, integrate third-party systems, and communicate system updates. This role ensures PowerSchool effectively supports instructional and operational needs within Ohio Virtual Academy.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands on experience with PowerSchool (administration, data management, or reporting)
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Education, Data Management, or a related field
- Strong understanding of student data systems, data privacy laws, and reporting requirements
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, data analysis tools, and report creation
- Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and the ability to train non technical users
- Must reside in Ohio
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a K–12 school district environment
- Familiarity with state reporting systems (e.g., EMIS or equivalent)
- Experience with SQL, data imports/exports, or API integrations
- Knowledge of related systems such as SchoolMessenger, Clever, or LMS platforms
