Job Summary
Graduate Coordinator for First Year Communities to support student wellbeing and success for first-year students living in on-campus housing. Responsibilities include student growth and development (e.g., roommate mediation), community-building programming, retention initiatives, direct student follow-up, on-call crisis response, and facilities-related tasks in collaboration with American Campus Communities and Butler Facilities. The role involves maintaining records, communicating with university partners, and participating in division/university activities. Requires graduate enrollment and a Bachelor's degree, with a stipend of $12,000 per year, 20 hours/week, tuition assistance for Butler graduate programs, and an on-campus apartment stipend package.
Required Qualifications
- Must be currently pursuing a graduate degree at an accredited institution of higher education
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills
- Experience working with college students
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions
- Ability to diffuse and respond effectively to situations involving intense pressures and/or unpredictable persons
- Physical ability to climb stairs in order to reach the top floor of a residence hall in an emergency situation without assistance
