Job Summary
Assist Facilities Department with campus grounds, general maintenance, event setup, and seasonal tasks to help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming campus environment. Perform tasks including cleaning sidewalks and entrances, maintaining landscaping, moving furniture, assisting with office relocations and room configurations, painting preparation, patching and hanging boards, replacing ceiling tiles, and general facility support. Operate basic hand tools and grounds equipment after training; report maintenance, safety, or appearance concerns; assist with snow and ice removal; contribute to maintenance shops and storage areas; and perform other duties as assigned. Requires strong communication, ability to work 12-20 hours/week around class schedule, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds; must be a current Newman University student enrolled full-time.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a current Newman University student enrolled full-time (minimum 12 credit hours).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work 12–20 hours per week with scheduling coordinated around class availability.
- Reliable attendance, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently after training.
