Student Experience Specialist

Job Summary

Plan, coordinate, and facilitate in-person and virtual student engagement events to promote connection and school involvement for currently enrolled, newly enrolled, and prospective families. Support new student onboarding and orientation, including communication, scheduling, and facilitation of sessions. Serve as a liaison between the school, families, internal teams, and community organizations to support student and family connection to available resources. Develop and implement virtual engagement experiences, including virtual field trips and interactive activities. Collaborate with internal teams to identify and engage students who may benefit from increased connection opportunities. Track participation and engagement data to monitor effectiveness and inform improvements to programming. Coordinate logistics and support execution of student milestone events such as prom, graduation, and other school-wide experiences. Maintain organized records, schedules, and materials related to student engagement programming while ensuring strict confidentiality of student information.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in education, social science or a related field
  • 3-5 years experience in youth-facing event planning or community coordination
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • All PDE required clearances for school-based personnel
  • Great organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Adaptable technology skills
  • Experience using search engines (internet) for research projects
  • Experience using a student information system and/or other type of database
  • Demonstrated competencies with general technology, Microsoft Office Platforms (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, etc.), Google Platforms, Zoom, etc.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to exhibit mental dexterity to dial a telephone, enter data into a computer, read a computer screen and printed material, hear and understand speech at normal office/workplace levels, and speak in audible tones
  • Ability to physically lift up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret workplace documents, technical procedures, research studies, and governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports with clarity
  • Ability to interface diplomatically with all members of the school community - administrators, teachers, parents, students, Board members, support staff, colleagues, and outside professional contacts
  • Ability to coordinate and use technology for a variety of workplace purposes and communications
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Resident of Southeastern Pennsylvania (Greater Philadelphia area)
  • Professional, distraction-free home office during the workday
  • Core hours between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM
  • Ability to work independently for approximately 40 hours per week
  • Ability to travel for community events, professional development, and state testing (estimated 40-50% of time)

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in education, communications, student affairs, counseling social work or a related field
  • Experience executing school-wide student activities across both in-person and virtual formats
