Job Summary
The WNC Art Gallery Student Worker role provides hands-on gallery administration experience supporting exhibitions, events, and promotional activities. Responsibilities include maintaining gallery inventory, assisting with installation and deinstallation of exhibitions (handling artwork, labeling, lighting), supporting events (setup, guest assistance, teardown), creating and posting exhibition marketing materials for social media and campus communications, tracking attendance and visitor data, performing basic administrative tasks, and maintaining a clean, professional gallery environment. The position requires the ability to lift/move artwork and materials (with training), strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Eligible students must be enrolled in at least 6 credits each regular semester, be in a degree-seeking program, meet Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements, and be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Work-study eligibility is not mandatory, and the schedule allows up to 20 hours per week with variability based on organizational needs.
Required Qualifications
- Enrollment in at least 6 credits each regular semester
- Be in a degree seeking program
- Meet all Satisfactory Academic Progress Requirements (67% completion rate last semester; 67% cumulative; 2.0 GPA)
- Be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Work eligibility during Summer if applicable (enrollment criteria)
- Criminal background check may be conducted as part of the hiring process
- Possibility of verification of academic credentials upon hiring
