Job Summary
Open and close the residence hall Monday through Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and weekends from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Carry a pager for emergencies and answer phone inquiries regarding campus directions. Process student and guest check-ins and ensure building security by walking floors and stairwells. Host at least two floor activities per semester and assist new residents with university adaptation. Enforce community standards, facilitate hall councils, and report safety hazards or maintenance concerns. Maintain familiarity with campus locations and assist with fire drills and tornado procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Student must be a UAMS student in one of the six UAMS colleges
- Student must live in RH
- Student must be available for employment for two semesters upon initial hire
- Student must not be employed in any other UAMS department or lab
- Students are expected to place the position as one of their highest priorities
- Students may work no more than 20 hours per week
- To work in excess of 20 hours per week requires specific approval in advance by the RA and GSM for the time period involved
