Job Summary
Student Disability & Accommodations Specialist at Hastings College (Part-Time, up to 20 hours/week) develops, documents, and implements accommodation plans for students with disabilities in compliance with ADA and Section 504, collaborates with students, faculty, and staff, and serves on committees related to ADA compliance. Responsibilities include overseeing the Studio 200 Testing Center, hiring and supervising note-takers and student workers, mentoring graduate assistants, utilizing technology to enhance accessibility and student learning, and staying current on regulations through AHEAD membership. Requires experience in accessibility services or student support, knowledge of ADA/504, strong communication and collaboration skills, and a Bachelor's degree in a related field (Master’s preferred). Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education, disability studies, special education, psychology, educational psychology, rehabilitation counseling, or a related field or equivalent experience
- Experience in accessibility services, student support, or related field
- Strong knowledge of ADA and Section 504 and best practices in disability accommodations
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience creating, documenting, tracking and helping implement appropriate accommodation plans (preferred)
- Education: Master’s Degree preferred
