Student Development Specialist II

The Student Development Specialist II at Texas A&M University’s Department of Student Activities serves as a mentor, strategist, and relationship-builder to enrich the Aggie experience through leadership development, student engagement, and cherished university traditions. The role guides Class Councils and Fish Council in creating meaningful programs that foster class unity and school spirit, blending student advising with event management and organizational leadership. Responsibilities include advising, leadership development, risk management, event planning and logistics, recruitment and retention, program assessment, policy compliance, and donor engagement support through elevated events. The position supports donor relationships and strategic initiatives to strengthen belonging, leadership, and tradition, with collaboration across the Development and Events team and engagement with stakeholders, including preparations for events such as Fish Fest, Pull Out Day, Legacy Night, Elephant Walk, and Ring Dance. Qualifications emphasize ability to multi-task, strong oral and written communication, and experience in student affairs, with potential for further development through professional opportunities and conference participation.
