Student Assistant, Narrative and Story Telling

Job Summary
Create graphics, digital, and print content to drive brand affinity and engagement across social media and other channels. Develop audience knowledge to inspire and engage individuals while writing compelling captions and copy. Produce short video and audio clips, conduct research on storytelling trends, and monitor news sources to communicate pertinent information to the team. Act as a thought partner by brainstorming new ideas and implementing processes to scale narrative efforts. Maintain confidentiality regarding ASU Foundation and Enterprise Partners information. Work approximately 20 hours per week with additional availability during the non-school year.
Required Qualifications
- An Arizona State University undergraduate or graduate student
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to ASU Foundation and ASU Enterprise Partners, its subsidiaries and University business and confidential prospect information
- Ability to use creative tools including Canva, Adobe, and Hootsuite
- Collaborative style, combined with the ability and desire to work in a team-based environment
- Strong and collegial interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively via verbal and written communication
- Problem solver who can take initiative and set priorities while being flexible
- Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing assigned duties
- Excellent planning, highly organized, and able to handle multiple projects
- Capable of managing several activities at the same time
- Knowledge of Associated Press style
- Willingness to sign and abide by a confidentiality agreement
- Experience in short-form writing and editing
- Experience in content creation (graphics and videos) for social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Working experience with Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Ability to commit to working at least two consecutive semesters
Desired Qualifications
- An Arizona State University undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Journalism, Design, Communications, or similar field
- Skilled in crafting creative and engaging content
- Knowledge of social media marketing best practices
- An ability to understand dynamic, interrelated concepts and ASU connections to news, events and organizations
