Job Summary
Lead workshops with K–12 students at an assigned school to guide collaborative mural creation aligned with the festival theme. Facilitate inclusive, 45- to 60-minute sessions across a minimum of 10 workshops, managing transportation and classroom supply procurement. Design and execute the mural-making process, ensuring students determine visuals for the final 8' x 4' artwork. Submit the completed mural for review by March 8, 2027, and attend the Tidal Basin field trip and school closing ceremony. Complete all required District of Columbia Public Schools clearance processes prior to activities.
Required Qualifications
- Experience teaching visual arts to K–12 students
- Strong classroom facilitation and project management skills
- Demonstrated experience developing collaborative or community-based art projects
- Ability to guide students through a creative process while maintaining project timelines
- Strong communication skills and responsiveness to feedback
- Ability to pass required school district clearance processes
- Available during weekdays during school hours
- Willingness to travel within the city for this project
