Job Summary
The Student and Family Engagement Specialist provides academic and social-emotional services and collaborates with the school community to facilitate academic support, engagement opportunities, and goal setting for students and families. Responsibilities include data-driven MTSS/EWIMS interventions, using Panorama for tracking, coordinating post-secondary pathways and alumni engagement, managing the Champions incentive program, and leading family and community engagement initiatives. The role emphasizes coordination with counseling, teaching staff, district leaders, families, and community resources to support student attendance, online learning environments, assessments, field experiences, and targeted interventions, while applying culturally responsive practices and building strong partnerships to improve student achievement and wellbeing.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certification
- Master's Degree Preferred
- Experience in group facilitation and/or training
- Proven ability to build and leverage relationships with diverse audiences and partners
- Demonstrated ability to plan strategically, prioritize time, and manage implementation plans in fast-moving, changeable environments
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Strong computer and technology skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google docs, and learning new platforms
