Job Summary
Conduct campus tours, assist at special events, and serve as student role models and mentors for peers. Act as a student representative for UW-Stevens Point at Marshfield by guiding new students on welcome day and handling administrative tasks at the Solution Center front desk during scheduled hours. Maintain a friendly, engaging environment while addressing sensitive concerns confidentially and professionally. Work approximately six hours per week at an hourly rate of $12.00, with duties varying based on event schedules and team needs.
Required Qualifications
- Must be in good academic standing (at time of application a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA is required.)
- Must be currently employed or enrolled as a student at any of the Universities of Wisconsin
- Must be willing to work as student representatives of UW-Stevens Point at Marshfield
- Must be willing to act as assistants for special events
- Must be willing to act as new student welcome day assistants
- Must be willing to act as campus tour guides
- Must be willing to act as student role models/mentors who assist other students
- Must be willing to complete administrative tasks during scheduled hours at the Solution Center front desk
- Must have a keen appreciation for the campus and community
- Must be fun, outgoing, and passionate about UW-Stevens Point at Marshfield campus, and UWSP as a whole
- Must have public speaking skills
- Must have previous experience working with diversity
- Must have the ability to work with small groups as well as individual visitors
- Must have the ability to work independently with minimum supervision as well as collaboratively within a team
- Must have the ability to communicate accurately and effectively
- Must maintain appropriate mindset and language
- Must be willing to learn and communicate new information with others
- Must have the ability to address sensitive concerns of students and parents in a confidential, professional, and tactful manner
- Must have the ability to foster an open, friendly, and engaging environment that supports and respects the diverse needs of students
- Must have learned knowledge of UWSP main campus, branch campuses and campus resources
- Must maintain high morals, values, and integrity
- Must be willing to perform other duties as assigned
- Must be authorized to work within the United States as required by the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986
