Job Summary
Placement and Testing of students in the educational environment; serves as a campus support and provides assistance and coaching to teachers and staff for instructional improvement, classroom discipline and overall campus improvement. Includes duties such as identifying and enrolling students in appropriate programming, maintaining class sizes, supporting district goals, providing resources and assessments for college and career planning, advising students on educational decisions, coordinating GED and other testing programs, and collaborating with administrators and teachers to ensure compliant, professional operation in Windham School District. Demonstrates confidentiality, professional conduct, and adherence to district policies and ethics; may supervise Testing Specialist, Testing Clerk, and Intake Clerk. Requires strong communication skills, knowledge of district operations, and ability to develop professional relationships with staff and students.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from a college or university accredited by CHEA or USDE OR SBEC Mid-Management/Administrator/Principal Certificate OR be eligible for probationary certification
- Standard School Counselor certificate issued by SBEC or University approval for issuance of an Intern or Probationary School Counselor certificate
- letter from college/university indicating probationary certificate eligibility by acceptance in the certification program
