Job Summary
The George Washington Young Adult Borough Center (YABC) program seeks a Student Advisor to be the primary contact for a caseload of approximately 60-70 students, conducting intake interviews (including remotely via Department of Education approved platforms), providing academic and social-emotional outreach, and guiding students through college and career resources such as FAFSA and college applications. The role involves coordinating with guidance counselors, teachers, and staff, maintaining student records and milestones, delivering workshops and group sessions, participating in civic/community activities, and supporting students’ academic, career, and personal goals with both in-person and remote work as needed. The position is full-time, requires some evenings and potential overnight trips, and requires DOE clearance; proficiency with Salesforce, Google Suite, Zoom, and other data systems is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum B.A/B.S.W. degree
- at least two years youth services experience
- Excellent verbal, analytical, writing, communication, organizational skills
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and multi-task
- Knowledge and experience in WordPerfect/Microsoft Word/Google Suite/Mffer? (corrected to Microsoft Word/Google Suite) and collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams and Zoom
