Job Summary
Attendance monitoring professional who will act as a primary point of contact for students with attendance concerns, supporting engagement, retention and compliance. Responsibilities include handling attendance-related queries in person, by email and by phone; managing cases from first contact through to resolution; coordinating with academic and professional services to identify concerns, coordinate appropriate interventions and ensure compliance with internal policy and external regulatory requirements (including UKVI and OfS); maintaining accurate documentation and attendance records; producing attendance reports; signposting students to appropriate academic, wellbeing or professional services; and working across campuses with Schools, Registry, Student Services, Visa Compliance and IT Services. The role requires a professional, student-focused service mindset, strong communication skills, data accuracy, and the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed across multiple sites.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a student-facing, administrative or compliance-focused role
- Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly with students, staff and visitors
- Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities and follow issues through to resolution
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping and data handling
- Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to build effective working relationships across academic and professional services teams
- Organised, reliable and able to work independently with deadlines
- Experience in an FE or HE environment (Desirable)
- Experience with attendance monitoring, student engagement, retention or compliance processes (Desirable)
- Awareness of UKVI and/or OfS requirements relating to attendance and engagement (Desirable)
- Confident using Microsoft packages (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Experience using student information systems, databases or case management systems
- Experience with reporting tools or workflow systems (Desirable)
