Job Summary
Fan s h a w e College seeks a Student Accountability and Investigations Specialist to conduct impartial investigations into non-academic student misconduct, prepare comprehensive investigation reports, and support restorative resolution processes within the Centre for Equity, Diversity & Inclusion. The role requires applying multiple policies and legislative requirements, interviewing parties and witnesses, collecting and analyzing evidence from statements, records, security reports, electronic communications, social media content, and video documentation, coordinating with multiple campus partners, and ensuring timely, fair, and trauma-informed proceedings. Responsibilities include initiating conduct investigations, determining jurisdiction under the Student Code of Conduct, facilitating informal and restorative resolutions when appropriate, developing educational resources and programming, and advising on policy interpretation and implementation related to student conduct and safety. Required qualifications include a four-year post-secondary degree in a relevant field, strong policy interpretation and investigative experience, experience handling sensitive sexual violence disclosures with survivor-centered approaches, and the ability to manage multiple complex cases with confidentiality and timelines. The role emphasizes collaboration with diverse campus stakeholders, trauma-informed practices, and contributing to institutional processes and tools supporting conduct investigations and student support. This is a two-regular-full-time, on-site in London, Ontario, with hybrid work options and a comprehensive benefits package.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary 4 year degree in a relevant field such as law, criminology, public administration, social sciences, or a related discipline
- A graduate degree in a relevant field, a law degree (JD/LLB), or relevant professional designation (e.g., CHRP/CHRL) will be considered strong assets
- Minimum 5 years’ progressively responsible experience in investigations related to people, employment, or student policies; student conduct administration; regulatory compliance; conflict resolution; or related fields involving complex case management and policy interpretation
- Experience conducting complex investigations, including gathering evidence, interviewing parties and witnesses, assessing credibility, and preparing written reports to support administrative decision-making
- Experience interpreting and applying institutional policies and legislation, including frameworks related to human rights, and student conduct processes
- Experience working with sexual violence disclosures or complaints, or other highly sensitive matters, using trauma-informed and survivor-centered approaches
- Experience facilitating or supporting informal resolution processes, including mediation, restorative dialogue, and behavioural agreements
- Experience managing multiple complex cases simultaneously while maintaining accurate documentation, confidentiality, and adherence to procedural timelines
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, senior administrators, and external partners
- Experience working in post-secondary education, the public sector, or similarly complex institutional environments, is considered an asset
