Job Summary
Oversee and perform complex cashiering and refunding activities for student accounts, accurately receipting, recording, refunding, and reconciling tuition payments and college revenues. Process enrollments, daily payments, reconciliation, invoices, receipts, and course drop/withdrawals; ensure appropriate documentation is attached to all transactions and resolve billing issues. Coordinate with the Financial Aid Office to disburse and apply Title IV funds in compliance with federal/state policies and FERPA confidentiality. Assist students in creating payment plans; manage communication regarding account adjustments and delinquent balances; audit student accounts for necessary adjustments and returns. Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues and compliance with institutional policies, Title VI/ IX and related federal/state acts. Attend training to enhance knowledge and skills and collaborate with college departments to ensure accurate billing and timely aid disbursement.
Required Qualifications
- Proficient working knowledge of higher education federal and state financial aid programs, policies, and procedures
- Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail for processing financial transactions and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Knowledge of regulations governing student aid programs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel worksheets and formulas
- Strong organizational, analytical, and planning abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of student accounts and related documents
- Ability to manage multiple complex assignments with deadlines and changing priorities
- Experience with cashiering, enrollment processing, refunds, and reconciliation of student accounts
- Familiarity with FERPA regulations and billing policies
- Ability to collaborate with Financial Aid Office and Accounting Department
- Attention to documentation and compliance in transactions
- Professional work ethic and customer-service orientation
- Workday/Navigator Student module knowledge preferred
- NASFAA financial aid credentials preferred
