Job Summary
Assist individual students with lesson assignments to reinforce learning concepts in accordance with their individualized education program (IEP). Execute lessons as directed by the teacher, supporting independent work, special projects, or small group instruction. Accompany and assist the student throughout the school day, including participating in classroom routines, transitions, and self-care tasks such as eating, dressing, and toileting. Implement tier one behavioral supports and behavior intervention techniques in alignment with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Monitor and document daily data associated with the student's activities of daily living, medical, behavioral, and academic needs. Obtain and maintain QBS certification while adhering to Arizona Autism Charter Schools policies.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card
- First aid/CPR certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
Desired Qualifications
- Special education and/or medical experience: 1 year (preferred)
- CNA or Medical Assistant certification preferred
- Ability to exercise tact, good judgment, and initiative in dealing with students, faculty, and the public
- Ability to communicate with co-workers and parents in a courteous and professional manner
- Ability to exercise reasonable judgment and maintain confidentiality
- Experience in structured teaching, with a center-based model preferred
