Job Summary

Structures Responsible Engineer to develop state-of-the-art structures for launch vehicles and landers across the product life cycle. Responsibilities include concept design, structural layout, sizing analysis, hardware production, structural testing, and the creation of CAD drawings and specifications. You will design and develop composite and metallic structures for orbital launch applications, optimize mass, support configuration development and trade studies, and ensure qualification through prototype and production phases. The role requires collaboration in a multi-discipline team and strong communication. Preferred qualifications include an MS degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering, knowledge of composite manufacturing methods, experience with composite structures, and familiarity with FEA/FEM tools (e.g., Nastran, ANSYS, FEMAP, Simcenter). ITAR considerations require U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or eligible authorization. The position is located in Austin, TX, with relocation assistance provided.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in a structural system design-related role
  • Strong design and integration skills using 3-D CAD software (Siemens NX / FiberSim preferable)
