Job Summary
Lead the planning, design, and execution of structural engineering projects, primarily in the transportation market. Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality control while serving as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders. Provide technical expertise in structural analysis, design, and materials selection, and oversee a team of engineers, designers, and drafters. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Develop, review, and approve project documentation, reports, and specifications. Identify and mitigate project risks while resolving technical challenges. Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client presentations. Conduct cost-benefit analyses for assigned projects. Requires a PE or SE license, 15+ years of experience, and proficiency in structural analysis software.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license
- 15+ years of experience in structural engineering and project management
- Proven track record of managing structural projects
- Project and/or client management experience
- Ability to guide junior staff as well as participate in the design and detailing of all aspects of small- to large-scale structural projects of varying technical complexity
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, Teams
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication, as well as time management skills
- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client needs and deadlines, as well as other assigned project parameters
- Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, clients, and contractors
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in multiple states is a plus
- Strong proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., OpenBridge/LEAP, MIDAS, OpenRoads, MicroStation)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
