Job Summary
Design components and steel structures for ships and offshore constructions in 2D and 3D from preliminary design to production drawings. Perform strength calculations and reports using hand calculations and finite element analysis (FEA). Collaborate with internal departments to determine design constraints and support CAD designers with technical assistance. Produce 2D and 3D drawings of steel structures and mechanical parts while overseeing production drawings and feasibility studies. This role is based in the centralized Aalst/Hofstade offices within the Marine Design and Engineering Department, focusing on renewable energy infrastructure and sustainable construction projects.
Required Qualifications
- Master in Industrial Sciences Electromechanics / Industrial Design
- Bachelor in Electromechanics
- Relevant work experience
- Experience with 2D and 3D design
- Experience with finite element analysis
- Technical knowledge for supporting hand calculations
- Experience with ship design
- Experience with ship structures
- Experience with offshore structures
- Knowledge of PTC Creo Elements
- Knowledge of PTC Windchill
- Knowledge of Ansys Mechanical
- Availability to work from the accessible offices in Aalst/Hofstade
