Job Summary
Draft and review legal documentation, including pricing supplements and ancillary materials, for structured product transactions with complex payoffs. Own and manage a pipeline queue of transactions to strict deadlines with minimal oversight, providing legal judgment on templates for new or adapted payoffs. Act as a key escalation point for documentation issues while mentoring paralegals and driving process improvements through document automation technology. Build strong relationships with senior client contacts across Operations, Structuring, Legal, and Trading. This senior role supports Tier 1 Investment Banks by reducing costs and improving processes through mutualized managed services.
Required Qualifications
- J.D.
- active bar admission
- New York bar admission
- 5+ years of post-qualification experience within the financial services industry drafting issuance documentation for securities or structured products, or complex/non-standard derivatives
- Deep experience working on structured products and/or derivative transactions, including exposure to complex or bespoke payoffs
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise legal judgment, and take ownership of a high-volume transaction pipeline
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in written form
- Ability to prioritize workflows in order to meet deadlines
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and deliver high quality work
- Strong work ethic proven by previous working experience
- Excellent Microsoft Suite skills (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)
- valid work authorization for the US
